The appropriate response to spillage of hazardous substance

At our QFab facility in Al-Wukair we had an opportunity to find out the appropriate response to spillage of hazardous substance. 
The following steps should be followed in such an emergency: 
• Preparedness for potential spillage of hazardous chemicals or substances e.g., providing suitable spill kits and PPE 
• Safely approach the identified spilled chemical 
• Maintenance and use of SDS (safety data sheet – referencing for proper handling, response, and disposal) 
• Identify spilled hazardous chemical and protect drainage and soil from contamination by providing absorbent kits and rolls 
• Properly clean up hazardous chemical spill, bag in a suitable waste bag, label waste bag and dispose into approved hazardous was bin and skip 
• Use proper and suitable PPE during response and clean up
